Want to know something amazing?  Over 4 million books were published in the U.S. alone during 2019.  That is an outstanding number of people who believed the message in their heart had to be shared.  And personally, I couldn’t agree more! 

But that can also feel a little scary.  With so many books, how can you stand out in 2021 and beyond?  Not knowing the answer to this question causes some people to hold their message in, instead of “Writing It Out.”

Effective Tone and Dictation

Your tone and dictation determine the effectiveness of your message.

 

Generally, a formal audience is presumed to expect a more dignified and objective message, whereas, an Informal audience expects a personable deliverance with a conventional tone.

 

Equally important, formal and informal messages are sometimes interchangeable depending on how the orator needs to target a certain point or main objective. Some messages need statistics, points of reference and supportive study facts, even in an informal setting.

 

Note: Make it a habit to be grammatically correct.

 
Take caution of your choice in words - Not to offend, omit one's convictions or cause intimidation to those who may be of the minority role.
 
 
Rather build up. Raise the standard for your audience's desire for wisdom, knowledge, and understanding.
 
 
Your tone of voice and/or your prose integrity will convey genuine concern and success in your overall deliverance.

Record Your Speeches

Record your speeches. Recordings are excellent "go-to's" when writing a book. Recording your speeches can give you an advantage if you ever decide to become an author. You will have a jump start in using relevant material taken from your speeches - including them in your manuscript.

 

Listening to your tone of voice, how your message flows, will help assist you with documenting your best wordage and information.

 

Note: Old school dictating machines and recorders are still great devices for note taking and capturing that inspired thought.

Research Methods and Resources

When researching supportive information, facts, and analysis there are several important things to consider.

 

Information found in books vs. Information found electronically. Although many will agree that books will never be totally replaced by visual electronic content, it is wise to keep in mind:

 

Up-To-Date Online Articles, Vlogs, Podcast, Visual Media, provide new theories, discoveries and research results that are first presented.

 

Books hold their weight for indexing long-term research, experience on a certain topic and credible expert findings on the subject matter.

 

However, in this fast-paced global society of newfound discoveries, electronics has raised the bar for getting important and agog content out to the public in a matter of hours, even minutes.

 
Yes, we must cross-examine all findings and validate resource findings whether from a book or electronically - making sure that the information holds creditable and proves valid.

Speech and Note Preparation

Although some may use speech preparation note styles simultaneously, choosing a specific form varies with our familiarity and experience with the Topic Discussion.

 

"Full Text" notes may work in our favor if we are giving a speech for the first time. Making the text large and triple spacing can be quite useful.

 
  • NOTE: Marking off what points we have addressed would be sagacious. Otherwise, we may lose our place, become disoriented and fail to make eye to eye contact with our onlookers.

 

"Flash Cards" is great for those of us who have quite a bit of experience with public speaking or may have previously spoken on a particular topic.

 

They're efficient enough to contain key points, reminders, and definitions. Flashcards are very facile - easy to maneuver and effective.

 
  • NOTE: Let's not become dependent with these handy helpers. Once again, we don't wanna start fidgeting with too many cards and loss our needed eye to eye contact with our audience.
